This has been an amazing year of change and growth. We have now had our sweet sunshine girl home for 14 months now. Aleksandra "Leksi" Grace is thriving and immersed in the love of our family. It is as though she was with us from the very beginning of her life. Her 5 big brothers dote on her and she works them over with her cuteness. I clearly abandoned one of my favorite hobbies of Blogging soon after Mark and I became parents to a 17 month old. Sitting at the computer to do anything these days is a luxury I cannot afford to spend my time on. Still, it is nevertheless a wonderful way to keep friends and family updated. So here we go again.....We are off to Latvia the 3rd of June to begin the process of adding to our family. We have been offered a Matching Grant by Grace Haven Ministries. the grant is matched dollar for dollar and is in the amount of $1,000.00. Our total expenses are around $35-38,000.00. We have saved and committed to $ 25,000.00 of it so this still leaves us $10-13,000.00 to raise. Please see the attached Support Letter, following our Family's Letter.


 April 22, 2012 Dear Church , Community, Family and Friends, We would like to announce our decision to answer God’s call once again to choose life and receive His special graces through the gift of adoption. Our modern society continues to promote attitudes and philosophies of death on many different levels. We have found that the ministry of adoption and parenthood best facilitates our relationship with Christ and draws us closer to Him as we follow the Word of God and live it word for word. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 We continue to produce fruits to share with others through parenting children and raising our children in the light and truth of Christ placing Him always at the Head of our Household. It is our commitment and goal to not only teach our children that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer, but that each of them will grow to understand that they too have a unique purpose of their own and must share their gifts in the manner God calls them too with others. Our family is so excited as we prepare for our first of three trips to Latvia to bring home two little boys who are ages 2 and 3. Aleksandrs, the eldest of the two brothers has dwarfism like our precious daughter Leksi, whom we brought home in February 2011. Aleksandrs was abandon by his biological parents because they could not envision a favorable future for him. We had been praying that there would be another sibling close in age to Leksi in the near future. God certainly has an amazing future for all of His children in mind and He never ceases to amaze us with His love. In August of 2011, just one month after completing the adoption process for Leksi, we were contacted by our attorney in Latvia telling us about Aleksandrs. In addition, he was noted to have two younger siblings, one who will be two in May and the other, born this year who is still in the care of his birth parents. We are praying that God will move mountains and change this young couple so that they may be able to continue to parent their newborn son . Grace Haven Ministries has provided us an opportunity to administrate all donated gifts to our adoptions. Please see the attached Support Letter. We are grateful for your prayerful consideration to partner with us and give these 2 little boys a permanent family who will love and care for them no matter what their perceived physical or intellectual limitations appear to be. Following are our current needs: 2. Prayer. Please pray for the protection of Aleksandrs and Samirs as they wait for their new “Papa” and “Mama”. That they will receive the nurturing and love that children need to grow healthy and attach well despite a rough beginnings. We ask for God’s protection and that they have the health He wants for all of His children. For our adoption process and the authorities in Latvia and the United States that are responsible for adhering to the laws set forth by the Hague Convention. For safe travels for our 3 required trips and that all of our financial provisions will be met. Mark and I are so grateful that we will be permitted to bring the boys home at the end of our first trip to Latvia. The U.S. is the only country that allows a special provisional Visa to be issued for International adoptees. 3. Financial Support.   Support Letter from Grace Haven Minstries Dear church, family, and friends of Mark and Theresa, Grace Haven Ministries (www.GraceHavenHome.com) is a Christ-centered, nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging the body of Christ to actively extend their faith through adoption and orphan care. We are also committed to ministering to the needs of adoptive families by offering adoption grants, fundraising support, adoption conferences, post-adoption support groups, and ongoing prayer and encouragement. We believe that adoption is more than just bridging the gap between needy children and waiting families. Adoption is a beautiful illustration of the gospel. Before we became Christians we were orphans, separated from our heavenly Father. But Jesus Christ paid the price for our redemption so that we could be adopted into God’s family. Galatians 4:4-6 says, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” We know that orphans and the fatherless hold a special place in God’s heart. Psalm 68:5-6 tells us that “a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families." Not only are orphans close to the heart of God, but God has called for all of us to care for orphans. James 1:27 instructs us that “religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” There are many ways that we can care for orphans. Some are called to sponsor a child. Others are called to be a foster parent or mentor. Still others are called to adopt or to give financially to adoptive families. And some choose to do many of these things all at the same time! In the book of Matthew, Jesus instructs us that “whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” Jesus is constantly challenging us to move out of our comfort zone and love our neighbor as well as we love ourselves; to sacrifice our time, money, and resources for the benefit of others just as Christ sacrificed himself for us. He goes on to say that “whatever you did for one of the least of these…you did for me.” (Matthew 18:5, 22:39, 25:40) Today there are an estimated 143 million orphans worldwide. Standing shoulder to shoulder there would be enough orphaned children to go around the world three times! That is a staggering number of children in desperate need of food, clean water, shelter, and families. It seems like such an impossible goal to care for that many children. On our own we may not be able to care for them all but we can start with one. In fact, if only 7% of those who claim to be Christ followers chose to adopt a child in need, Christians would care for all of the adoptable orphans in the world! Mark and Theresa have decided to take Jesus’ words to heart and become one of those 7%. They have heard God’s call to care for orphans and the fatherless and have stepped out in faith and obedience to adopt Aleksandrs and Samirs and give the one thing that orphans around the world want more than anything else…a loving family. As many of you know, adoption has a price. Whether it’s the price Christ paid for our redemption on Calvary or the price adoptive families pay to rescue children in need…adoption is expensive. This cost prevents many families from adopting. However, Mark and Theresa

have decided to step out in faith believing that if they are obedient to God’s Word than he will be faithful to supply all their needs according to his riches in glory.
